Today we had our instrument try-outs for band and orchestra. Students are bringing home an information sheet about the musical instruments that they selected to try out today.
Our Storytown text today was a non-fiction passage about the Grand Canyon. Today we took our test over the story vocabulary, comprehension, and we worked hard on a written extended response essay about the Grand Canyon.

Spelling Unit 29 is words with prefixes and suffixes. The main thing is to simply study the base word spelling. The words look difficult, but when broken into smaller parts, they are really quite easy! We only have one more week of Spelling after this week!

Our "Walk for a Cause" is after school on Wednesday, May 18. Only students with permission slips can stay for this event. They should be picked up at 3:00, but families are invited to walk with their children.
