Lots of Reading!

Because of Winn Dixie

Last night's homework was to re-read Because of Winn-Dixie found on Storytown pages 546-559.  This story begins Theme 5 in our Storytown book.  We discussed and reviewed the vocabulary used in the story.  We completed Practice workbook page 121 as a review, and we took our story comprehension and vocabulary test.

Students in Block 1 are working on a reading Bingo card by reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction pet books.  Students in Block 2 are reading the chapter book Stone Fox.  This book is a real tearjerker.

Our spelling test is Friday over Unit 21.  These words end with suffixes such as -eer, -ian, -ant, -ent.

For our read aloud, Block 1 is reading Woof, and Block 2 is reading Mr. Lemonchello's Library.

Class photo composites were distributed for take home today.  Friday is the end of the second trimester.  Report cards go home on February 26. That's next Friday, the same day as Rocket Town.
